Kalico Consulting never fail to deliver to the highest standard. I return to them year after year because they bring such a depth of inter-disciplinary knowledge, understanding and professionalism to every project that they are engaged to do. The substantive knowledge and capability of staff mean that they can ‘hit the ground running’, so there is no lost time and money on explaining and contextualising the work. Kalico Consulting has a strong commitment to social justice and gender equity and this threads through all of their work. In this sense they are strong contributors to social change. Kalico Consulting always go above and beyond because they care about the work that their clients are doing in the community.

Parenting Connection WA engaged Christina Kadmos from Kalico Consulting to undertake a program Evaluation in 2020. The Evaluation was extensive as it involved visiting many towns in Western Australia, speaking with and interviewing a large number of stakeholders and program staff, facilitating meetings with key program staff and executives of the partnership agencies, analysing the information received and the preparation of the final report. We were very pleased with how the work was completed and the relationships Christina formed with the key staff members. The Evaluation findings have been used the past two years to review the program and most of the recommendations have been taken up. Christina was very well organised, professional but friendly in her manner, and thorough in the way this evaluation was conducted.

Legal Aid WA has a long history of engaging Kalico Consulting for work in relation to legal need and CLC service mapping, commencing in 2003/04.  Christina Kadmos of Kalico assisted Legal Aid WA and the Stakeholder Committee with the Joint Cth/State Review of community legal centres (CLCs) in WA in 2003.  The outcome of the CLC Review Process was the creation of a State Funding Program for CLCs in WA.

Legal Aid WA again engaged Kalico Consulting in 2017 to assist with legal need mapping and collaborative service planning under the new National Partnership Agreement on Legal Assistance Services.   This was a complex and challenging process requiring compilation of a range of data sets providing evidence of legal need and consultation with a range of stakeholders in the legal assistance sector.   The project had multiple stages and used data reports prepared by other organisations.  Both Christina and Maxina worked on this project for Legal Aid WA.

Throughout the long working relationship with Kalico, Legal Aid has been impressed with Kalico’s professionalism, demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation and excellent report writing under time pressure.  Christina and Maxina have been a pleasure to work with and have a clear understanding of community consultation processes and the capacity to ensure that a range of diverse stakeholders are adequately represented.   Legal Aid WA will be engaging Kalico to work on future projects relating to CLC and legal assistance services.

Kalico Consulting has worked with Women’s Health and Family Services on a number of consultancy and evaluation projects over many years. These include a major evaluation, focus groups and client interviews, developing strategic template documents  and a number of successful funding grants. On each occasion our organisation has been very impressed with the quality of Christina’s work and the timely manner in which it is produced. She is an excellent communicator and her engagement with stakeholders and clients alike is confidential, supportive and professional.

Kalico Consulting are thorough, knowledgeable and well prepared, with an excellent knowledge of the not for profit sector and organisational challenges. There is often a clear disconnect between an organisation and the consultant, which becomes more apparent in reading the end product - competent, yes, but indistinguishable from all the others. This is not our experience with Kalico Consulting. Instead we have always received documents that are well written, well organised and very professional, but also capture the unique heart of the project. WHFS highly recommends Kalico Consulting.

Fiona Reid, Executive Manager of Client Services, Womens Health and Family Services

Tenancy WA would like to thank Kalico Consulting for their outstanding assistance and commitment. Both Maxina Martellotta and Christina Kadmos have been a pleasure to work with on each and every occasion. They have always generously given of their time while providing the necessary knowledge and skill set to undertake and support Tenancy WA in a number of different and varied projects including the strategic planning and the ongoing development of the Safe as Houses program, writing tender and grant applications and the assistance provided in the development of Tenancy WA's suit of policies and procedures.

Kalico Consulting has demonstrated the required understanding of the community sector and specifically the community legal sector. Tenancy WA's experience of Kalico Consulting has been one of professionalism and enthusiasm while assisting Tenancy WA and the Safe as Houses program achieve their strategic outcomes.

Kalico Consulting undertook a comprehensive evaluation of the Financial Counselling Network in 2017/2018 which included data analysis, surveys and face to face interviews across 19 entities.  The resulting report has provided the Network with the knowledge to be able to move forward with an understanding of our existing strengths and opportunities for future development.  Christina and Maxina were professional and the final report was of an extremely high standard.

Celia Dufall, Principal Officer, Financial Counselling Network

The quality and integrity of Christina’s work is outstanding.  Her insightful challenge of underlying assumptions and fresh perspective has brought new understandings to the organisation and guided our continuous improvement.  Working with Christina on projects has also given our staff invaluable and unforeseen opportunities for professional growth and development.

Kathleen Gregory, CEO, Foundation Housing

Kalico Consulting was contracted by Pride WA Inc. in 2013/14 to undertake a strategic review in order to identify the purpose of the organisation and position in a contemporary Western Australian context.  Pride WA found working with Kalico Consulting to be extremely constructive and helpful to the objectives of the strategic review project and the process of future planning. The experience, skill and professionalism demonstrated by both Christina Kadmos and Maxina Martellotta proved essential to the overall successful outcome the organisation was seeking from the review process.  In addition, the understanding and empathy for the objectives of Pride WA, which both Christina and Maxina were able to bring to the project, provided the Pride WA Committee with a level of comfort that the project was indeed in safe hands. Pride WA would not hesitate to recommend Kalico Consulting to other organisations seeking to undertake a similar process and would certainly consider working with both Christina and Maxina in the future.

Kalico Consulting assisted the Regal Theatre Foundation with our community engagement programme. From the outset, Christina's systematic approach and clear thinking along with her very worthy recommendations certainly clarified a cohesive way forward for the Foundation. It has been an interesting journey and some of the information that has been tabled was hitherto an unknown quantity. Our direction now will be on a much firmer footing as a result of Christina's contribution and I feel sure the Foundation and ultimately the Arts community will greatly benefit from our deliberations. Thank you again for sharing your expertise with us.
